US Department of State: St. Maarten Ranks Amongst Safest Destinations in Caribbean
Regardless off recent unfortunate developments in other parts of the Caribbean, St. Maarten remains ranking amongst the safest destinations in the Caribbean, and by extension the world. For an overview, a recent article on Thrillist.com lists a large sample of Caribbean countries and their safety level. Whereas French side Saint Martin is listed explicitly, Dutch side St. Maarten also enjoys the highest safety level (1).
